Writer's Night!

My youngest daughter Evie and I spent last night at a writer's open mic night at the Chattanooga Public Library. The event was coordinated by the Chattanooga Writer's Guild and included readings by many local authors, some regional, and even one rap artist who recited some of his poetic lyrics. It was a fun, casual night of creative expression; I recited an original poem & Evie contributed some cool animation to the Library's VR equipment. We made some new friends and I volunteered to help out on June 23rd when the library will host the 2018 Readers and Writers Fair. Promoted as "A celebration of all things literary for and by the people of Chattanooga," the fair will host platforms for local writers to share their works, craft ideas, and mingle with other regional and local writers. Everything from fiction to poetry will be explored and enjoyed and there will even be a place for the kids on the 2nd floor of the library which will be hosting activities especially for them. The event is totally free and runs from 10 - 4:30 PM - if you live nearby, come out and join the fun! For more info visit www.crwfair.org
